Footnotes

1The Interoperable S-map for OVERSEER Envirolink Tools Project has deployed a web data service based upon an International Standards Organisation/Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Feature Service (WFS) specification to provide spatially located S-map soil siblings and their properties to the OVERSEER nutrient budgeting tool. Access to the service is restricted. To gain access to the S-map for OVERSEER WFS contact Linda Lilburne, Landcare Research (NZ) Ltd.

2FOCUS is a framework that formalises the link between catchment land use activities and farm water quality planning undertaken by Land Management Officers. It is a modular, flexible, living and simple framework delivered in five modules –Signal of Harm, User Training, Catchment, Farm and Outcomes. FOCUS is delivered electronically as a series of dynamic documents within the VUE (Visual Understanding Environment) software package so that users can edit and customise documents. To get started:

  1. Read the User Guide to find out what FOCUS is and how it might be useful to you.

  2. Download and install VUE from http://vue.tufts.edu/download. You will need to register as a user to download the software. Watch the VUE introductory video on YouTube (VUE Overview, or YouTube search: VUE 2 Overview).

  3. Open the project VUE package FOCUS.vpk. Turn on the Layers window (CTRL+5), and turn on and off layers with the eye icon to the right of the Layer Name. Use the browse tool  ---> to navigate through the documents.
